The PVD coating operator performs work and tasks in the process of applying hard protective coatings. Working in two shifts, the operator takes part in receiving tools, incoming and outgoing inspection, polishing, washing and loading the tools onto the clamping fixture, and unclamping them once the process is complete. The coating process is computer-controlled and takes place in a vacuum chamber.

At the conclusion of phase B of the project, we successfully achieved the set goals in the areas of standardization, digitalization and sustainable optimization of production processes. We standardized key technological procedures and systematically introduced them into MES systems, which enables better traceability, repeatability and transparent management of production.

Nowadays, we want to produce products as quickly as possible and thus make the most of our machines, which brings us greater profit. How do we achieve such productivity?

In the field of dimensional control, we offer consulting from the very beginning of your project, and we listen to customer requirements. Measuring booths are installed right next to the production process, enabling fast, accurate and simple measurement of the prescribed characteristics. They can be manual or automatic for 100% measurement. Temperature compensation of the measurements is also possible, and the results can be transferred to existing statistical programs.

You will now be able to machine tough and demanding materials at even higher cutting parameters. Thanks to new and even harder coatings, the tool will not feel it. Under the public call for the establishment or upgrade of e-business in SMEs in the period 2019-2022 “E-BUSINESS 2019-2022”, Gazela d.o.o. carried out a project that achieved the following objectives: (a) implementation of electronic data interchange between partners (EDI), (b) extension of the websites for foreign markets, (c) web shop, (d) production of a product and sales video for foreign markets and (e) strengthening of employees' competences through training.

The consortium of companies BLISK livarstvo d.o.o., ORODJARSTVO KRIŽAJ d.o.o. and Gazela d.o.o. is conducting applied research and development within the RDI project on: (a) a family of new, more demanding castings made of Al alloys for the automotive industry (e-vehicle) based on the metal die-casting process, (b) mechanical and heat treatment of new tool steels with high thermal conductivity, which will contribute to higher productivity and less scrap, (c) protective hard coatings to increase the wear resistance of die-casting tool components and (d) a methodology for measuring the temperature of tool components during the die-casting process and the creation of a numerical model for a better, timely understanding of conditions and response.
