Precimar 600E The precision length measuring machine Precimar PLM 600-E from Mahr is suitable for the absolute and relative measurement of precision products and inspection equipment. The high-end measuring system is characterized by a low length measuring deviation (MPEE1 = (0.085 + L/1500) µm, position deviation (0.07 + L/2000) µm). The measuring machine also realizes automated measuring sequences, making measurements more efficient. The PLM 600-E is used, for example, to test plain plug and ring gages, setting rings and gage blocks or thread gages. With the software function “Free measuring dynamic” delivered in the standard scope, the user can perform measurements on thin-walled (elastic) measuring objects with which real forces would otherwise be deformed and thus erroneously measured. By capturing these elastic properties of a measurement object, the 828 WIN software is able to calculate the actual length in the unloaded state that is free of any measuring force.

Mahr has been building horizontal length measuring units of the highest precision since 1897; today these are the ULM, PLM and CIM series. The length measuring machine is based on the proven Precimar PLM 600-2. The new features give the user more comfort and bring much more precision into the measurements - therefore the "E" in the name for "Economy". Thus the length comparator now also has the proven MarEcon control. This control was successfully implemented in the universal length measuring machines of the ULM series and will be transmitted to the Precimar PLM 600 in the next step. It operates independently of PCs and via USB the user can continue to use his previously implemented computers. In addition to the control, two functions have been improved: modular motorized worktable and the new height adjustment of the worktable in Z.

The measurements are performed with the user-friendly and proven 828 WIN software with the ability to monitor test equipment with the software Precimar GMS 100. The user controls the machine from a mobile and ergonomic control panel. It can be positioned exactly where needed so that every movement can be performed economically. On two TFT monitors that are optimally placed within easy sight of the operator, the measurement is carried out by the software.

The now motorized Y-axis enables rapid reversal point determination and thus faster calibration of test equipment. Due to automation in the Y-axis, subjective influences are reduced when contacting the measuring object. A unique feature is that a manual Y adjustment is still possible. Automatic tracking of the measuring force during the reversal point search is still available for all methods of measurement. The proven Z-guidance system incl. scale system from the ULM series has now also been integrated in the PLM 600-E. Advantage for the user: more rigidity of the Z-axis.

The DAkkS / DKD laboratory of Mahr in Göttingen is accredited for the calibration of horizontal length measuring units. The application specialist for production metrology thus offers worldwide the issuance of DAkkS / DKD calibration certificates for length measuring units. The unique selling point: The calibration is carried out with mechanical contacting of gage blocks. Customer value: The calibration is performed the same way as the later measurements, making it more reliable. With a calibration, Mahr customers receive objective measurement results and thus document their manufacturing quality.
